License In D.C., you need a motorcycle license for most scooters. In Maryland and Virginia, you need one if the engine is over 50cc.
Lemon Law  In Maryland motorcycles are coverd under the lemon law. Repair Interval and Coverage Period:
  • 1 repair attempt in the braking or steering system or 4 repair attempts or 30 calendar days out of service for other problems.
  • 15 months or 15,000 miles. 12 months or 12,000 miles for leased vehicles.
Lane Splitting
 § 21-1303. Operating on laned roadways (c) Overtaking and passing.- The operator of a motorcycle may not overtake and pass in the same lane occupied by the vehicle being overtaken (d) Driving between lanes of traffic prohibited.- A person may not operate a motorcycle between lanes of traffic or between adjacent lines or rows of vehicles
