I'm looking for a mechanic to work on a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic. The issue is the bike hesitates for a second or two on the initial part of each gear. So after each gear upshift, I give it throttle and it hesitates before it actually gets going. I don't like dealerships. Someone working on the side or trustworthy repair shops are preferred. Any recommendations? I'm located in Greenbelt, MD.

I do all my own work, except a few things. When I don't do it I take her to Myers Cycle in Kensington MD. 307-897-0050. May be a little out of the way for your location but they are very knowledgeable and honest guys. They actually SAVED me $200 when I took them 20+ year old carbs to be rebuilt and re-synced. Can't say enough good things about them.
